A regular beer is $4 so we would go to the Diamond lounge (when is was open) and get a beer for $2. and we have BOTH been Diamond players for years. We have watched (and contributed to) their growth to one of the largest casinos in the U.S. NOW, here is the rub.GREED! My wife and I have been going to Cherokee since they STARTED the casino in a metal roofed shed. in addition, if you become a Diamond player, yo get perks like a free valet parking, a free room (if they haven't filled their quota.they always save a few vacant rooms), and a Diamond lounge so you can take a break from gambling and get a snack and/or drink, etc. One Reward credit equals $.01 so if you play $75,000in a year, you get $150 to spend on their buffet, for instance which costs on average $30 each. You also get one (1) reward credit that you can spend like cash in the casino. SO, to achieve Diamond status you need to play $75,000 in one year. One (1) tier credit requires $5 played in a machine. For 15,000 tier credits you can become a Diamond player. Getting a player card allows you to build up comp credits you can spend for buffets, gift shops, etc. If you live in the area and want to visit more often, don't be suckered into achieving a 'player status' for loyalty based on how much you play. IF you go there, be prepared and take LOTS of money you can or want to give away! It's a great place to visit if you've never been to a casino. The room was great but a quick update to the shower head would make it seem more luxurious! We felt like we were in a Motel 6 in the 70s with the current situation.

Replace the shower heads (at least in room 600 of the Mountain Tower) with a more up to date and effective shower head. A buffet was not an option for us here as it was closed the entire time we were here. One of our favorite things about staying at casino resorts, including those on Native American lands, are the wonderful buffets. I have never been to a casino resort where this has been true. Buffet is only open certain nights of the week and has no daytime hours. It is no longer a luxury, but rather a necessity for many folks to be able to check in and do some work things during their stay. In this day and age, many people work remotely and need Wi-Fi coverage 24-7. All staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating! Express check-in and check-out through the kiosk or your smart phone was a plus! We enjoyed the food court for a quick meal (Earl of Sandwich, Uno, and Dunkin Donuts) and had a good dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse. Positives: This is a beautiful and nicely decorated facility with wood, water, and fire elements emphasized and a river running through the property.
